I Did It! Monday – Week 18

I Did It ripples_05

DSC01079-1

This week’s accomplishment is not something I did.  It’s something my Most Wonderful Husband (MWH) did.  He’s standing very near the edge of a very steep drop off looking out over the Shenandoah Valley.  This may not sound like much to you, but it’s huge for him.  He does not handle heights well at all.  So Hooray for MWH!!  I’m proud of how he’s facing down a life-long fear of heights.

You’re invited to join I Did It.  Just blog about something you or someone else did.  Big or small.  Then head to I Did It! Monday and add your link.  While you’re there, check out what others have done.

Congrats! I also suffer from a fear of heights. I know how that feels. I can walk up mountains if there is a path, but scaling up cliffs scare me. The worst thing is man-made heights like tall buildings. I hated the Empire State Building. I did not want to even put my foot into the Twin Towers.
One summer, I worked in a department store in the decorating department and had to force myself to climb ladders and hang things from a very high ceiling.
Hiking in the mountains on Iceland, I inched on my behind to get a view over a 400 meter drop.
But no matter how hard I try, I know I will never get over it completely. I just make it a tiny bit less frightening.
Best wishes
Christina Wigren (a.k.a. Anna of "Annas Adornments")

I put your badge on my sidebar. How do I give you mine? Shall I e-mail it to you?
Thank you,

Good for him!! I don't do well with heights either but I'm sure the scenery was beautiful.

That is wonderful.

That is truly an achievement for your Hubby.
Now if I could be so brave and actually hold a snake...I would have no fears:)

Although I think I would rather stand on the edge of a steep cliff :)

P.S...The widget looks good !

Congrats to you and your (MWH)! Isn't Shenandoah the name of one of Jimmy Stewart's western classics?

Anna, MWH isn't totally over his fear of heights and probably never will be. He's just taking steps to be more in control instead of letting the fear control him.

Thanks, everyone, for your kind comments.

Vickie, Thanks so much for giving me an award. I'm on my way to pick it up now!

That's awesome and congrats to him. I also have a fear of heights but overcame that fear by walking over the Golden Gate Bridge and standing by the ledge taking photos. It still scares me sometimes but I did it.
